Improvising All the Way
Friday 25th July, 7pm

Special guest Martin Hughes leaps into the mix with the regular Little Con artists (Dianne, Shaun, Paul, Joey, Ann-maree) to play a little one hour improv game. Who knows what, where, when and who will attempt to make dance out of chaos and chaos out of dance, as the impulse to jump in and jump out is obeyed and ignored, imposed and composed, vetted and fated? Yes it could all go horribly wrong. Now you wouldn't want to miss that would you??

See you there. We'll risk it if you will!

The Little Con
Friday 26 September, 7pm

What do you get when you combine six women, six solos, and six approaches to improvisation (besides a certain devilish combination)?

Solo Sensibility
Jade Blair
Carlee Mellow
Emma Strapps
Noelle Rees-Hatton
Dianne Reid
Ann-maree Ellis

Come and witness our little experiment to see how the boundaries between solo and sextet slip and blur, merge and emerge, and are maintained or obliterated in our simultaneous solos experiment.

Each of us will perform a 15 minute solo, simultaneously, responding to the imperatives of the way we each work individually. We each then work and re-work from this into a 5-10 minute solo, alone.

We are curious about what might happen, and curious about what you might see. Join us in the exploration and share with us your responses.

Wheel of Fortune comes to The Little Con
Friday 31 October, 7pm

What would happen if you allowed a wheel to determine the performance elements?
How long to go for? How many performers? What soundscape?
Could it all come together?

Come and watch as some of Melbourne's finest improvisers are joined by The Talent from Tasmania to craft an exciting evening of performance, where truly no-one knows what may come. With a pinch of luck, a handful of inventiveness and the skill of these artists, there will no doubt be some gems to behold.

The pin-wheels of improvisation:
Andrea Breen
Helen Swain
Paul Romano
Shaun MacLeod
Dianne Reid
Ann-maree Ellis
Josef Lehrer
and maybe a mystery guest...

See you there. We'll risk it, if you will!
